The last 5 Entries on my instagram

my last 5 instagram Posts

Social media has been ruling the majority of people’s lives in the past 10 years. Spanning from Friendster, MySpace, from the olden days and the death and dying Vine and Snapchat. I could go on for much farther than that, ahem… Asian Ave… but we won’t go there dating my life. In current times, we all know that Instagram reigns king. It’s where most people spend their days bending their necks forward living different lives from what they have. We’ve all heard the stories.

Which leads me to this. My last five instagram post. I figured a nice post about them and where they came from and the stories behind them and where they came from. Since we’ve been cooked up indoors with no place to travel and create content, a lot of people I know has been digging deep through their archives which I am guilty of as well. That doesn’t mean the content is no good, but it really is a nice walk down memory lane constantly surprising oneself on how good some of these photos and videos are and some just absolutely horrendous thinking at the time were great. Love it. Let’s do it. From oldest to newest. As I said, last five post so not that old.

The Christmas Day Post.

Captioned: “Merry Christmas! Hope everyone has a safe and healthy Christmas.”

On this photo it shows my dog son, Rye. He’s an awesome dude. This photo was taken the night of Christmas Eve/day around 2 am. What I really wanted was to have a photo of everyone opening their gifts and being happy, or something else the portrays the joys of Christmas. But as always, nothing happens as planned so here we are. During Christmas Eve, we knocked out at around 9:30pm while watching a movie I don’t even remember. Maybe a paranormal show. I actually woke up around midnight to greet everyone Merry Christmas but Jassica, my girlfriend is knocked out and Rye here is in and out of sleep. I stayed up watching a marvel movie and ate cookies as I notice Rye staring at me. Seemed like an appropriate Christmas photo I thought. Here we are adulting. Asleep during Christmas Eve and waking up early in the morning to join my family for our Christmas tradition opening gifts and eating Filipino breakfast food. Mostly. We made chicken curry in the morning to bring to the party and made endless cups of pour over coffee for everyone.

The New Year’s day Post.

Captioned: “Rye saw another dog, Jassica saw the pizza delivery guy. Happy New Year from our fam to yours! “

Posted January 2nd it completely defeats this being a new year’s day post. This is my first post on the new year, 2021, so I think this sort of qualifies as such. This photo was taken in Camarillo, CA. We don’t have much planned being after new year and all, drunk parties and celebrations the day prior… just kidding we didn't, we decided to go for a walk and actually do some exercise as we wait for our car being washed. Not too far from the car wash location was a park that allowed dogs. We decided to walk and hang out for a bit waiting for the car that was projected to be cleaned in an hour or so. It was a nice day, not too cold but also not too sunny. Rye spotted a puppy walking as Jassica instructed him not to bark. Rye is still a puppy so he’s very playful and wants to jump on the other dogs to play. He is also part terrier so it’s in his nature to bark which we’re currently working on. Nice and clean park, nice and rejuvenating walk. During this walk we also decided to not eat fast food and we should choose one fast food joint to eat at each for the rest of the year to be healthy. We ended up In N Out after this. This photo was also shot with a Canon R5 with an RF 28-70 F2 Lens @ F2.

The Light Painting Photo Circa, 2013

Caption: “Something I really need to explore more is light painting. Haven’t done it in a while. Should really get into it again. #fbf”

Posted January 8th. This photo brings back a memory of a skill I need to implement more. I’ve only used light painting on automotive photography a handful of times and I haven’t done it in a very long time. this was my first attempt on the practice. I really like how this photo turned out. I took and merged 6 or 7 photos for this one shot. I took more photos than that though and stopped right after accidentally bumping the tripod since it was pitch black and I couldn’t see where I was walking. This was taken with a Canon 5D MK II with a EF 16-35 F2.8 at I’m guessing F11 judging by the sharpness and focus of the photo. This photo was also taken around midnight. I’m a night person as well as a morning one too. My creative juices usually flows around midnight and on.

The obligatory sunset by the beach photo, Circa 2015

Caption: “Good morning, Tuesday”

Posted January 26 the caption doesn’t really say anything about the photo. This was a random post and thought but really this was a reedit of an old photo I shot late 2015. I think it’s one of the last few sunsets of the year edging closer to 2016. I shot this as part of an HDR photo with my Canon 5DsR. This photo is the middle exposure but still shot it a little under exposed. It’s a lot easier lifting shadows than praying for details embedded on an over exposed one. I usually get pretty spirited around the end of the year and try to soak up as much light and life from the outgoing year. Just stay silent and appreciate the year that has passed and the blessing of continuing on for another year. 2015 was a great year if I remember correctly. And this photo is a testament on appreciating the beauty and the experiences it embedded on my soul.

That one time at the beach early in the morning..

Caption: “Let’s change it up this week. From some time ago... finding gems today. Early morning with @alemonteiro84”

I met Ale’ in through instagram. It’s a little cliché but the work we did came out really well. She’s a transplant from Brazil moving in with her bf that was originally from the same country but living here in the US. At the time, she’s only been in the states for a month or so. Barely speak English so we were talking through her translator which was fun. She lived a mere mile away from where I live so it was easy for us to meet up and create amazing content. El Matador state beach is an “influencer” paradise. Every day there’s a whole mess of people striking a pose for content. Ale’ being an “influencer” herself with upwards of 150k followers on instagram, had some products from sponsors that she needed help with so I of course accepted the task to shoot some photos and create some art. Can’t pass it up really, she’s an awesome person with great personality. Timing is everything when it comes to El Matador coz the beach disappears as the tide rises. We decided to shoot early in the day, this was around 7:30 - 8am before the flock of instafamous people comes by and I wanted to shoot with a nice mellow sun with a little bit of fog and more importantly, the tide was low. After a few hundred photos and a couple of wardrobe changes, we produced a lot of keepers. This is one that I haven’t really published but a true gem of the batch. Unfortunately, the finger was a little cut on this one but I still love how the light, the hair, and how soft the photo is. Absolutely perfect combination. This was shot October 2017.

And that’s it! The last 5 Instagram post. I don’t really post as much as I do even though I have more than 3500 photos on instagram. Mostly random stuff from the very beginning but now, there’s the stories for more of the randos that I post. It’s always nice to look back and see how much I’ve evolved through photography and lifestyle by looking at the photos I’ve posted. It’s amazing how much I’ve grown and how much I’ve done through the years. Really, what I appreciate are the experience and the people I have met during these times that are the gems. I’ll keep on posting, and I’ll keep on telling stories. Follow me at @Akumatose13 and view my cooky life.
